Rights-based policies for tackling malnutrition and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC): Aligning N4G commitments with progress
On International Human Rights Day, December 10, participants will learn about rights-based policies that governments should enact to ensure their 2021 Nutrition for Growth (N4G) pledges and commitments succeed in tackling malnutrition and keep them accountable on the pledges made.
Panelists will explore the interdependence of the right to nutritious food and progress made in integrating nutrition into Universal Health Coverage (UHC) plans to efforts meant to tackle malnutrition and to break down silos between sectors in order to cultivate smart, innovative, and multisectoral responses. Using examples of N4G commitments made at the Tokyo Summit, we will hold group discussions to identify policies that will ensure progress in integrating nutrition and UHC with a rights-based approach.
By equipping our audience with knowledge on the rights-based aspect of nutrition and harmonizing sectors and stakeholders to achieve UHC, deliver impact, and tackle malnutrition, this event will propose follow-up advocacy actions to take on International Human Rights Day (December 10) and UHC Day (December 12).
