Cecilia van Wijk
46:42
I wanted to give up the role of action network coordinator and I put a timeline of passing it off by the end of the year so folks knew it was coming and they could think about it. i didn't spring it on anyone. that worked!!
Alicia Stromberg
46:55
that's a great strategy!!
Cecilia van Wijk
47:19
i used it as part of our group planning at the beginning of the year and the goal was to pass it off by the end of the year
Alicia Stromberg
48:44
That is one of the other big themes I hear from new vols -- the positive feedback & acknowledgement really makes a huge difference! they appreciate it a lot and helps with the nerves

Paula, the age disparity question is important. And I'm not sure I have a great answer. I think the key is getting to know people (ask questions) so that you can find common ground. I was in a group where most of the people were 15-20 yrs older than me but once we got talking about the things we cared about, the age thing didn't seem as important.
Cecilia van Wijk
01:10:27
i'm so excited about these reminders and this new information! It is getting me excited about our next meeting (tomorrow)
