what does “Labor” mean in the budget category of Social Security?
Beth Prevo
21:52
housing vouchers = section 8, low inc and affordable housing??
Emily Northrop/B'ham /Ms.
22:05
I thought Ways and Means was the appropriations committee in the House. No?
Leslye Heilig
22:36
Ways and means deals with taxes not appropriations
Carol Kraege
23:10
even mandatory spending has to be appropriated right?
Emily Northrop/B'ham /Ms.
23:23
Ah, yes. thanks.
Karyne Bury

We miss you#44!

Florence Fultz
35:35
Me too - was just going to ask what that means.

35:53
Please say again the name of the House Appropriations committee. Is that its name?

What is Rep. Ricsh?
Gerard Stamm
42:17
"Mandatory" and "Entitlement" the same thing?
Carol Kraege
42:43
can legislation that has elements that would become mandatory be passes through reconciliation?
Emily Northrop/B'ham /Ms.
43:22
“in person visit” versus “lobbyist visit”?
Leslye Heilig
44:40
Met with Senator Markey’s foreign policy staff today—they want to know who you recommend they team up with
Lisa Marchal
45:12
Hi, Emily! "In person visit" is simply referring to any of the meetings you all hold with your members of Congress.
Gerard Stamm
46:12
"Dear colleague" is different from "co-sponsoring a bill"?
Beth Wilson
46:58
Some Members of Congress who are on the Appropriations Committee won't sign letters because they claim they won't write letters "to themselves".
Beth Prevo
47:58
that was one out of four GET housing funding?
ELLEN BRADY
48:15
Are these letters that RESULTS supplies to us to present to our delegation? Or who actually writes them?
Dave
50:47
How and when in the process do we get to see these Dear Colleague letters?
Constance Hammond
51:44
Individual deadlines for what?
Lisa Marchal
53:25
Hi, Constance! I believe what Crickett is describing is the individual, in-office deadlines that offices have for receiving appropriations requests. Those deadlines are early so that the requests can then be submitted to the Appropriations Committee in time.
Constance Hammond
54:39
Thank you.. I still don't quite understand that. Who are they receiving appropriate requests from - agencies?
Lisa Marchal
54:44
Hi, Ellen! RESULTS may weigh in on the sign-on letters. But they are written by/supplied by congressional offices.
Karyne Bury
54:52
I’ve had that experience with Diaz-Balart’s office...what can we do to get them to respond to our requests? they tend to shut down the conversation with us
Karyne Bury
54:56
us*
Liz Clerkin
55:28
The TB request is a big jump from previous FY levels. We met with Marcy Kaptur's office yesterday and her aide said she will probably have ?? about the increase. Should we refer her to you? Or are there materials about the need for the big jump.
ELLEN BRADY
56:02
Then do we have to ask our delegation for them?
Lisa Marchal
56:15
Believe it or not, Constance - you, as advocates, can send these appropriations requests to your members of Congress. (You are powerful!)
ELLEN BRADY
56:50
How does this process work for our domestic issues and what are our asks there?
Leslye Heilig
57:23
@Liz we discussed that as well with Markey’s staff and Cynthia who is a TB expert explained for us
Karyne Bury
58:20
Yes, it is important. He has a lot of influence with the new MOCs in 27 and 26, Salazar and Gimenez
Karyne Bury
58:36
Thank you!
Margaret Smith
58:55
Isn’t the GPE replenishment for years 2021-2025, so isn’t the $150 million for FY2022 be the second year and not the first installment for the 5 years.
Lisa Marchal
01:02:38
I know Crickett won't mind me saying - we had a lot of great questions, but we may not have covered yours. Or you might think of something later. You can reach Crickett at cnicovich@results.org.

The TB “vaccine” is 100 years old
Emily Northrop/B'ham /Ms.
01:05:20
Should have asked, what will our domestic asks be?
Karyne Bury
01:06:40
Gimenez’s office has sent us a link to their form which is asking for “Exact Language Request”
Karyne Bury
01:06:44
what does that mean?
Lisa Marchal

From Emily: So what will our House asks be?

Suggestions for sources to keep track of what is happening with these appropriations?
