If we say overall budget is approx. $4 trillion, how much is covered by revenue, and how much by borrowing?

I am now confused. Today on television I saw three different Republican MoCs say something about our debt being 0ver 100% of GDP… how is that possible? $31 Trillion in debt?

GDP is a different measure—it’s an estimate of our nation’s economic activity in a year

Debt is separate from deficit, too, I think. Deficit = spending - revenue.

Deficit is annual calculation of how much spending exceeds tax receipts, difference of which is made up by net borrowing, which contributes cumulatively to outstanding debt. .

In last couple years, we've lost ground between SFOPS Committee and even floor passed appropriations bills, and final Omnibus appropriations levels for the accounts we work on. Any way we can influence this going forward?

One of our reps on the apropps committee declined to bring our requests to leadership bc she was already on the committee
