Are the supplemental cost figures (e.g. $1.2 b.) for all spending in and by poor countries or for all foreign aid or for U.S. foreign aid? Or what?

Hi Leslye - one issues that we talk a lot about with maternal mortality is anemia - which contributes to about 20% of maternal deaths - we unfortunately don’t have a number that spans across all forms of malnutrition but that number is from the lancet and is the stat we reference when maternal mortality related to nutrition

What I was trying to get at is that we need to supply adolescent girls with micronutrients to really prevent the deficits that can occur at conception and during pregnancy. And I don’t see that being addressed

We do not know what of the COVID supplement will go toward malnutrition but 1,000 Days has called for $500m of the total funding to go toward nutrition.
