Hershel Daniels from OHIO and Dr David Ehremkrants of Results Phili are spearheading the effort to bring the Black Folks Plan to all 435 Congressional districts. They plan to meet at the Lincoln Memorial on the "A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM" effort. The Team is on the way to Geneva Switzerland for a UN meeting on help to Children.

Tax cuts and Jobs Act: TCJA

Since TB has emerged as an issue due to the COVID pandemic, how aware are members of Congress that TB needs to be addressed to address this emerging problem?

From someone who lives in Missouri (and used to live in Marysville OH) and is represented by Republicans at the House and Senate level, what is a good way to reach out to my Representatives and convince them about anti-poverty measures in general? Is there a different approach for each bill? Thank you for your leadership and support for our mission at RESULTS!

Really appreciate David and RESULTS Indiana's work with Sen Todd Young (per Jos note above!), and fyi RESULTS volunteers met with a number of GOP offices this week -- and a number are engaged/interested on CTC. we met with Senator Padilla’s staff Yesterday. they are interested in Sen. Brown’s reactions before reaching across out . They also said the senate is a pretty cohesive unit in that there are only 100 senators and folks know each other - and there is a hierarchy so not reaching out th=o senator Shummner until they speak to Senator Brown.

I think so many get responses like this one I got "Senator Blackburn has been supportive of the Child Tax Credit in the past, but with everything up in the air, as well as multiple plans floating around to address various concerns, we are continuing to monitor the situation and take feedback from stakeholders."

The Research & Development tax credit allows companies to deduct the cost of research and development. It is a high priority for Republicans to continue that tax break. The CTC is a high priority for Democrats. So Democrats are trying to say that they will vote for the R&D if Republicans vote for the CTC.

Several of us in California have already met with Senator Padilla’s staff . I do not know who is th point person for Senator Feinstein’s office an d not sure if those of us have reached out to her office . given the fact she is a señor member of the senate it would be important to reach out to her office -

New advocates lobbying staff of Rep. Kim who then signed onto TB Act

a tax staffer that we we've worked with in the past typically ends meetings by saying, "thanks for flagging that for us. we'll be in touch." this usually means the MOC doesn't intend to take any action. at a recent meeting with this staffer, he didn't say that, which makes me hopeful we're getting somewhere on CTC. :-)
