I don't remember, so could you please refresh my memory: does Gavi include the cholera vaccine? This is an annual deadly outbreak in Zambia. I lived through it and I'm still shaken by what I witnessed and heard. I tookk sanitation and the impacts of basic hygiene for granted...until then. The vaccine curbed the epidemic and saved lives.

Hi Lindsay - Gavi has recently started supporting financing and stockpiling vaccines for outbreaks. This includes cholrea as well as ebola
John Fawcett
01:17:02
Most of Gavi's support is for routine immunization, but they saw an opportunity and had support from donors to help secure a reliable supply of outbreak-related vaccines

Thanks, John. I couldn't remember and just figured I'd throw it out there (before googling) since it's a good thing to consider. I'm glad to hear that. USAID + CDC and other partners brought in cholera vaccines and I was so relieved when the deaths and infections slowed. It turned the tide.

Housing is a social determinant. Throw any issue out there. Access to healthcare better schools, or simly transit, a gatekeeper to getting to health, education, and work. It's a huge influencer on so many trajectories.

When I was able to buy and sell a house at a profit, I was able to send my kids to college and to get an advanced degree. This helped increase our collective incomes.

Every time a family is forced to move, the children's life, friends, schools etc are totally disrupted.

The ability to buy houses relatively close to my job profoundly affected quality of life.

Exaclth, like Bill Crosgrove said. Stability.

Low quality housing can even have a quite immediate effect on health (mold, infestations, etc.).

For many people, it is not even buying or selling a house. It is having a stable housing is an issue. Those are most vulnerable people we need to address (especially people with disabilities).
John Fawcett

My wife and I bought a house in 2009 in part to be close to great schools. I am very aware that it would not have been possible without financial help from our families, as well as federal tax policy, including a first-time homebuyer tax credit that was part of the economic stimulus package

The roadmap form is to be filled out by the whole group, not individuals, right?
Lisa Marchal
01:36:53
Correct. There is an individual form that folks can use as a creative worksheet before you do the group work.
Lisa Marchal
01:37:01
The individual form is also great for free agents.

fyi, some thoughts on a basic income guarantee and what could be dangerous about it from our trusted colleagues at CBPP https://www.cbpp.org/poverty-and-opportunity/commentary-universal-basic-income-may-sound-attractive-but-if-it-occurred. Though I haven't looked at the climate piece
