we’re proud of a few number of people in FL doing the work and getting MOC support and the public charge
Glad Houston US Poverty Becky Hopson could attehd the IC.
Several LTEs by Sylvia Lewis. Radio interviews on my show with RESULTS staff. Ken on November WE Get RESULTS
I had 3 face to face meetings with Sen. Tim Kaine. Talked with him on Snap. Had one face to face incounter with Senator Mark Warner
In AZ, we are beyond happy to announce that we have—within the last month, garnered more than 13 NEW RESULTS Advocates!

Question for Maxine: if you have an eviction on your "record," does that stay with you forever?
That’s really powerful, Maxine. Thank you for sharing.
Mary Albertson-waiting for a meeting date for a face to face with Congresswoman elect Haley Stevens 11th District MI. She said she is excited to meet with us probably next week.
housing is a major issue in miami, especially because of May low income neighborhoods are so violent
Regarding the national poverty line within the United States, as stated, what does “extremely low-income, mean numerically?
***Furthering, what percentage, below, the current, national poverty line?***
odd question, “ slum lords”, section 8, community and local political engagement
Mary, reach out once your meeting is confirmed -- and would love to hear anything she's said re: possible committee assignments or priorities
not sure I understand your question (if it is a question) Betsy -- can you elaborate a little?
how are you holding the builders associations accountable , and the chambers of commerce
Others: type in questions here. Will ask your questions from AZ?
sorry no question mark, I will
And a plug: I just finished "Color of Law" by Richard Rothstein this morning and I know others on this call are reading it. Pick it up when you get a chance (I got mine at the library on hold), would love to discuss on a future webinar/call
how do we get onto a state campaign
yes the color of law is an important read
in miami there are not enough section 8 housing available people stand in line for hours just to apply
Meredith-Haley is the co-leader (president?) of the Freshman class. What's it called?
Regarding AMI, how does one combat this issue in more-so, wealthier communities?
For, AMI fluctuates given the area in which one—and their family—resides.
Woohoo! Go Kathleen! :)
When housing vouchers were introduced to phase out "public housig" it was widely embraced. Now it is harder & harder to get landlords to accept vouchers in "safe and good" neighborhoods. The personal support systems are harder to maintain and families have new struggles they weren't expecting.
Can I comment?
Kathleen, that’s great! Do you have any RESULTS Reps. within, “the inner-circle/loop”? If so, please reach out, for, I have favorable contacts I could put you in touch with.
Sorry Mary, but please type in the Chat any additional tips
Andrew, not sure I understand your question, do you know folks who specifically who have worked with one of her new Reps in the Houston area and can help get a meeting? that would be helpful
Senator Peters' staffer was asked if he had a way to contact a new CongeresswomaNB ANS HE SAID YES HE COULD CONNECT HER WITH THE CONGRESSWOMAN ELECT SO MAYBE ASK ANOPTHER OFFICE NEAR THEM AND THEY MAY HAVE INFO.
are you sending volunteer match folks to FL
oh, that's a great tip!
So excited to have you as a fellow RC, Jana!
yep, as folks plug into one of our orientations we are connecting (you'll hear from staff). little surprised you haven't gotten any yet in FL but be ready! :)
Jana Julian (JJ)
thank you everyone!
Yvonne ask Senator Peters' staffer if he knew how to connect to Congresswoman elect Rashida Talib and he said yes he could give Yvonne her contact info. So maybe other offices could help. I had Haley's card from the campaign which had her cell number!
Sorry, let me clarify. Regarding the Houston Metro at large—vis-a-vis, the “inner-loop”, a term known throughout the area, I have influential donors and contacts within said area. Focusing on the “Rice Village”, Rice University, and the River Oaks Community, if not already exhausted, please let me know and I would love to place you in contact with potential advocates and donors!
Or what about their FB page with a way to message them to have someone contact you. Mary Albertson
yeah for the new website
stay on Andrew and others interested in AMI/housing, have a visual I can show you that Mike sent (will do a screen share
I like to know how we can get home builders involved
