How do we find out as soon as possible how to reach out to incoming members of Congress? We have a new senator coming in and we want to be some of the first constituents to reach out to him! --Cindy Levin, St Louis

01:51:59
Any other questions?

01:52:01
Meet them now at their campaign office

01:52:51
Senator Young is and Indiana Republican and has taken a leadership position on TB issues. He recognizes the importance of national security with global diseases. It has been incredible to work with his office on this. I find it interesting how you said some Democrats focus more on U.S. poverty issues, and we found this true with Senator Donnelly (Democrat leaving in January). Do you see with other Republicans that international affairs align with national security?

01:54:56
Thank you!

01:55:18
with Rep. reichert leaving, Do you have a suggestioin for a strong R house leader for global health or global education?

01:55:55
Great question, Anne - we'll note it for our own John Fawcett.

01:56:39
China is increasing its foreign aid dramatically. Could that be used as an argument to increase U.S. foreign aid?

02:05:29
How about sending thank you's to outgoing office holders who have cooperated on our issues in the past?

02:05:58
good idea Mark. they may want to engage with us as well

02:06:03
That thank you would also make a great LTE, to get the importance of our issues in the paper yet again.

02:06:30
november action sheet is to welcome new members of Congress

02:07:29
Marc - great idea

02:08:41
We will do some thank you letters from our office, and there will be some events in DC between now and the end of the year to say thanks. We were also able to acknowledge some folks at the IC (like Ros-Lehtinen)

02:11:07
If our states still have contested elections, does that mean our broadcast media story will last longer because our local media is still focused on the voter suppression in elections, etc?

02:16:44
Good question, Misty... I would think given the high profile race in GA, the media won't shift to a post-election story until it's resolved

02:19:22
Great thanks

02:23:25
Thanks, Mea! We appreciate all you do!

02:27:58
Do the newly elected members of Congress typically have townhalls before January? I'm thinking maybe not with the holidays...

02:28:33
