What constitutes the Western Pacific region? HAWAII?

for years I have heard about efforts to find a Vaccine to prevent TB - I know first they tried BCG but this did not work - I myself have TB infection but not TB disease since I was exposed working at q TB hospital during my nursing training - I am really interested in any progress to finding a real vaccine- also is DOT really effective in other countries- tried many times in US with mixed results

what are the stats on giving meds as prevention like they do for people at high risk for HIV

Who are the advocates in India? Groups like Results?

What is the impact on TB from the terrible smog in many parts of India?

could you say more about one-time treatment of latent cases, that I think you said would greatly reduce likelihood of developing active disease?

You mentioned Myanmmar, what about treatment and screening of Rohynga refugees? Are they getting screening and treatment. Does Global Fund provide help for refugees?

Will the vaccine address latent TB, or will people with latent TB have to take preventative drugs forever?

Not a question here, but a positive share from the field. A quality treatment experience makes a big difference in keeping people in care too. Story here about USAID work in Zambia. Has anyone explored getting 'the administration to recognize the benefit of the Global Fund to Trump's ending AIDS by 2030 initiative?

Hi Karen - we have. The Administration is holding fast to it's position that the US should not be providing 1/3 of Global Fund resources. The primary objection from the Trump Administration has not been about AIDS/TB/malaria per se, but an opposition to multilateral cooperation.

in countries like India what is the rate of TB resistant to current meds and even folks with TB that does not thanks lisa- I have not been great at reporting. and I got a Op ed on the Global Fund published in the Marin Independent Journal on Oct 10th with a picture of Bono and others - and working on another for World AIDS Day!
