Welcome Dining for Women!!
Hello, Dining for Women! Welcome!
You can ask the Senator questions here, or unmute your line when the time comes. Be prepared!
? How has the Foreign Relations committee changed with new Chairman Risch and his emphasis on less small committee work (ie, SFOPS)

to ask a question
This question is related to slide 24. Economic Opportunity is one of our issues. What is Results doing for Economic opportunity as far as Global Poverty is concerned? Ever since the microcredit summit was dissolved several years ago, we stopped lobbying for microcredit? Is it because microcredit is unsustainable? Is it because the majority of those running microcredit will only do so if it is profitable? If we are not going to lobby for microcredit, what are we going to lobby for under Economic Development?
Thank you for this question, Sandra. We can answer this separately.
More a question for RESULTS vs the Senator. We’ll hold this last one
A very good question for us, though. We are doing some things on ultra-poor graduation programs, but with less grassroots involvement at this point in the process.
how can results help the agenda in the best way
I lived in Guatemala and spent a lot of time at the embassy in Guatemala City. I watched wealthy Guatemalans receive visas to the U.S. while poor Guatemalans were denied. With cuts in funds, and the impossibility of poor Guatemalans to enter the U.S. legally, what do you recommend we do to alleviate this situation?
We ended small pox many years ago. Can we change the dialog around some of these diseases to ending them forever, instead of just making incremental improvements?
Ken, are the appropriations requests for TB too low? We thought that this year (FY 19) was $465 million.
You can also make comments about your early MoC meetings here in this chat room.
Hi Nancy - FY19 is not finalized yet, but looks like it's on track to be $302 million
Meet your member of Congress before the paint dries <- good goal!
I will have my first phone meeting with with a director for my local representative who I believe RESULTS has not met with yet. What are some topics I can focus on for the global fund that will build a solid relationship with the director and convince him to realize this is a huge issue?
Re: Willie's share just now: When I was attending this Global Webinar in January I was inspired to go to see if I could find someone at the new Rep's district office, since they weren't responding to my calls and emails. It was our Jan. webinar that inspired me to get in my car and just go there. The value of these webinars!
We have some golden messaging tidbits we can make sure you have, Jordan. Please feel free to send me your email through the private chat!
